Our Top Travel Tips

Whether it’s for business or pleasure the experience of travelling can be both rewarding and enjoyable.  To make sure your next trip is as pleasurable as possible we’ve listed below some of the top tips from experienced travellers.

  • Don’t miss your flight.  Gone are the days of quick and easy travel.  Plan on long lines and complicated procedures.  If you arrive at least two hours before for domestic, and four hours before for international, you should have no issues.
  • Remove airline tags after the flight asap.  Leaving old destination tags on a suitcase is one of the major causes of lost bags. Do not take the risk of baggage handlers scanning the wrong tag and causing your bag to end up in a different airport than you.
  • Search the web before you go.  You are sure to get a lot of website with feedback from people who have made the same trip as you have in the past. They will likely guide you to the best restaurants, landmarks and hotels in the area.
  • Wear clothing with hidden pockets. Not only is this convenient for you because you have room to carry more items, but it is helpful for keeping things from thieves and pickpockets. They will never find your valuables in a hidden shirt, pants or jacket pocket.
  • Don’t forget a book (or your Kindle).   When you are travelling on a plane, make sure to bring an electronic reading device such as a Kindle or a good book which will make the time go faster and the flight seem shorter.
  • Pack a rubber door-stop.  If you have to put up with a hotel which is probably less than 1-star and feel uncomfortable with the area the hotel is in you can ram the door-stop under the door to your room overnight and sleep peacefully knowing intruders can’t get in.
  • Take notice of cancellation policies.  Review the cancellation policy of any hotel or car rental company that you are considering using for your travel needs. If you are able to back out of the reservation, look into other offers when the time to travel gets closer. You may find that you will save a good bit of money or get a better room or car for the same amount.

With these tips you can feel confident and make the most of your travelling.
